Renovated to it's former sophistication, large living areas and rebuilt exterior terraces will allow you to experience its previous grandeur with fabulous views over green rolling country side and forests of the Dordogne. This detached holiday rental home has gardens, pergolas, loggia, and a summer swimming pool. It is scenically located next to an ancient chapel and church (both unused so no church bells on a Sunday morning!). The country house is elegant, refined and characterful, with wooden beams, high ceilings, flagstone floors, and antique furniture.

This holiday rental country house is designed for alfresco living, with three outdoor dining areas, Gas BBQ, swing seats, sunloungers etc. There are two pergolas for shade, one covered with wisteria, the other with vines. A large loggia with tiled roof provides further shade and faces south for maximum summer heat. The summer swimming pool is ideal for kids and adults alike. All modern convienencies have been installed into this beautiful and elegant property, with the kitchen having a gas oven and hob, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine etc. In the lounge there is SKY satellite TV, with BBC, ITV freeview channels etc. DVD, video and stereo, and a large collection, indeed a virtual library, of books and films. alfrescoproperty.com, elegant country house.

There are four bedrooms, two of which are double and two of which are twin. The master double bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. A large bath and shower room is located on this bedroom floor, whilst downstairs there is a toilet and sink in a utility room.... saves going upstairs!

Around and about....

There is a large outdoor swimming pool in Thiviers town, a five minutes drive away. Seven minutes from Pierrefiche is a Plan D'eau..... this consists of a lake with white sand beach for swimming and lifeguard facilities. There are also table tennis tables, volley ball court, cafe and childrens playground together with lots of shade. Northern Dordogne, and Thiviers especially, is a centre of Gastronomy for all France. There are many fantastic restaurants with excellent food at reasonable prices in most larger local villages. Try the St. Jean Hotel in the elegant village of St. Jean de Cole. If you prefer to cook yourself, there are 4 supermarkets in Thiviers and markets on Tuesday and Saturday.

This is Richard Lionheart country, with magnificent chateaux and car trails to follow his adventures. He died beseiging a castle in Chalus which is only 20 minutes away. Knights Templar have also left their mark here with old churches and other ancient relics. There is a large outdoor assualt course for adults and children 25 mins away called Acrobois. This is an excellent day out for active children and also has a lake for tired adults to relax around. In nearby Brantome, you can hire and canoe down a river. Elegant Brantome is also known as, Venice of Perigord as it is set in a beautiful riverside setting. Walking and cycling opportunities abound. Velorails are an enjoyable and safe experience for children as they are on converted railway lines. There are tennis courts 5 minutes away in Thiviers. Golf can also be found near to Limoges, and of course Perigeux, which itself is a beautiful University city.
